These Dashboards are made from furniture quality Beech which is fairly light in colour but is very stable and resistant to warping when exposed to strong sunlight and it can be obtained in knot free boards of 10" width at a reasonable price.  Brazilian Rosewood, American Walnut and Cherry are almost impossible to find unblemished in the width and length required and are very expensive.  The Beech Dashboards are stained and varnished to the darker colour as fitted to Singers and look very good.  There is the option of two holes or three holes for the ancilliary instruments dependant on whether you want to fit an Oil Temperature Gauge on 2 seaters.  4 seaters will require the three hole version as they are fitted with a Petrol Gauge.
